AliveAudio.net: Bringing Music Full Circle
The Ruth Music Group, LLC (RMG) created AliveAudio.net to give artists the ultimate control over distribution of their live and studio recordings, providing them access to their fans in a way that fosters creative independence and professional self-determination.
The Alive Audio Mission
By engaging in the digital distribution of live and studio recordings, it is our Mission to:
• Develop a new stream of revenue for all musicians;
• Create a promotional outlet that allows regional artists to communicate with a broader audience;
• Provide consumers with affordable, high-quality, digital sound recordings; and
• Diversify the styles of music available to the general public.
A Company with a Vision.
Alive Audio is an independent company and will always remain independent. Our long-term vision of enhancing the performance and enjoyment of music will therefore not be compromised by a want of short-term profitability.
More Music, Better Service, Respect for the Artists.
The major corporate music services like Napster and Rhapsody cut albums into bite-sized, a la carte download chunks. Alive Audio respects artists' creative integrity by leaving their works intact, and introduces audiences to a wealth of new music found on live recordings.
Lossless Compression & The Pursuit High of Quality Audio.
Alive Audio features FLAC, the most versatile lossless audio compression around. And as audio technology continues to develop, we will strive to provide our consumers the highest quality, free audio formats available.
Dedicated Recording Engineers.
A great tape requires the attention of an engineer dedicated to nothing but capturing and mastering the recording. Alive Audio introduces artists and record labels to an elite class of engineers, having years of experience both in the venue recording and in the studio mastering.
Live Recordings & the Crazy Conundrum of Copyrights.
Let's face it, any company can offer you a digital downloading portal. However, providing a responsible online music service requires developing new reporting standards for musical work royalties, securing proper mechanical licenses for live recordings, and ensuring the performing songwriter's own work is protected.
Remember Where It All Started.
Hopefully the rush to sell live music doesn't cause people to forget about those who made live music popular in the first place. We feel very strongly about protecting the taping and trading communities. An artist selling live shows should enhance the hobby, not make it more restricted. After nearly two years of planning and communication with fans and artists alike, we've found a way to strike a balance between commercial releases and trading. Alive Audio gives bands an alternative to the "all or nothing" proposition of for-profit or not-for profit. And under no circumstances will we ever allow Digital Rights Management software to be encoded into our recordings.
Garage Bands Rejoice!
If you've ever worked in the music business, unless you're a pop diva then you've slept on a lot of floors, eaten a lot of mac & cheese, and worked plenty of cruddy jobs. Over the last 20 years the music industry has erected more and more barriers to artists desperately seeking - and deserving - to succeed at their passion. Alive Audio provides the tools small bands need to reach the next level
