Joe Kraus is showing his SocialText killer product - called Jot. They call it an application Wiki.
Though I think SocialText will be fine, Jot has shown how little SocialText really did. By rethinking the initial concept of a Wiki - and integrating email, comments and structured forms - Jot has moved the Wiki bar up about 20 notches.
They think of Jot as a tool for integrating web info - tightly coupling feeds, Google APIs and other API calls into the Wiki vocabulary. Jot uses XPath, and treats any API call or feed as just another Wiki berb.
Totally fucking coolio.
Joe showed Jot integrated with Salesforce, federating client data and tying it into Jot forms - producing an incredibly flexible, cutomizable environment!
I spent an hour on the phone with a young programmer recently - trying to help him decide where to go work. The choices are: SixApart, Google and Jot.
Based upon what I saw today - I recommend that he go work at Jot.
The only drawback is that they're based in Palo Alto.
