An excellent survey of developments in broadcatching compiled by Ernest Miller: Broadcatching Roundup. High points: more RSS+Bittorrent software in the pipeline; broadcasters reacting in paranoid style to the trend; a VC saying that programming choice is the value to consumers.

Ernest rightly points out that the Bittorrent vector is heading for the painfully familiar collision with copyright. In my recent experience trying to replace TV watching with PC watching, I have had a hell of a time finding candy to watch without resorting to Bittorrent. News is relatively well represented online in comparison to drama and comedy.

Alf Eaton has released an update of the RVW specification for well-formatted syndicatable reviews. As part of the update he has created a simple web app to create and browse RVW documents, which was my number one request for RVW.

RVW is another post-RSS syndication format, in the sense that it applies the general concept of syndication to a specific vertical application, reviews.

If I weren't overcommitted already, I'd drop everything and start developing RVW tools.

me too brother - but it looks like Blogware has already done it and Tribe.net is close behind.

Me thinks that the OpenReviews effort is about to be born!
